Although we enjoy photographing a variety of natural and urban subjects, it is trees that seem to find us. Trees represent life’s journey. They grip the earth and ascend with a graceful yet determined manner, unfolding in the sky and cradling the clouds. They are quiet wisdom. Nature’s ambassadors, the original environmentalists are able to tower over their surroundings, getting what they need in order to purify and heal those very surroundings.
Capturing the majesty of trees is effortless, as we automatically look up to them…but do we see their work? We build around them; they prevail by spreading their roots. They bend, twist, divide and stretch to take the space they require for their own survival, but it’s as if they are fighting for all of us.
Their growth is deliberate, responding to their surroundings without drawing on them, surviving to continue their work…
The surface layers of beauty of trees as well as their whole existence and connectivity to everything else inspires and provides hope. Our aim is to draw the viewer in to look deeper and to consider and appreciate their presence and silent power…
